Day 12

We really never go out for ice cream because a. it is pretty pricey and b. I am not a fan of all the additives they put in, but tonight was Baskin Robin's $.31 scoop night and you cannot beat that!

The kids were very excited all day and were even more excited when we got there and there were balloons everywhere.  The music was SO loud that it felt like we were up in the club :)  We got our scoops, danced a little and the kids got free balloons, all in all a good night had by all!

Jonathan got Gold Rush and Alyvia got Mint Chocolate Chip... YUM!

Anderson had Mint Chocolate Chip too (and yes I do know he is in need of a hair cut!).

Day 11

With all of this packing it means that most of the toys are being put away for the week and the children are learning to be a bit more creative.  They have found that a good old box is a good source of fun; we may even decorate them today, which I am sure Jonathan will greatly appreciate as he is moving all the boxes :)

Now if only I could keep them in the boxes until we move.... I would get a whole lot done!

Day 7 8 9 10

Okay, so I have been a slacker because of being in Michigan and Easter so here are a bunch of days in one post.  This week we begin to really pack as we prepare to move this Saturday; prayers appreciated as I am not one who likes to live amongst chaos and clutter!  I will be glad once we are all moved and settled in!  Enjoy the pictures of our last few days.

How could you resist Tomato soup?!

DAY 6

Busy day yesterday so I did not have time to update last night.  Taite (sister) and I were up late trying to sort stuff for the yard sale today.  Time to de-clutter and re-organize!!

This is what her garage looked like last night while we were trying to sort through everything... yikes!

Day 5

I have always wanted a dog for my children but have never been able to have one and up until recently Anderson and Alyvia have been really afraid of them but NOT Amelia.  I may just have to look into getting one after this trip to Michigan, as all the kids love Oscar.

 Oscar snuggling up to Amelia.
Oscar giving Amelia kisses all over her face and then her head and then he tried to lick me.... no luck there :)

365 Day 4

The kids and I are in Michigan for the week so my post will be short tonight as I am tired from the traveling!

I love how they love each other!

365 Day Three

After talking to a few different moms today, I have come to the conclusion that society lies to women about motherhood.  There is an image painted of motherhood, that it is all fun and smiles and everyone is always happy, but I can tell you first hand that this is an ABSOLUTE lie!  There are days when I want to scream and put myself in a time-out because I am so overwhelmed and emotionally spent, and before today I would have  thought I was a horrible mom to admit that, but not anymore.

The truth is, motherhood is the hardest job any woman will ever experience; you will work hard and long hours with no pay and not a lot of respect, you will get thrown up on, pooped on and any other bodily function imaginable you will have on your leg or arm on  more than one occasion; motherhood is not for the weak of stomach or the squeamish!

I will never be like the mothers in all of the magazines or pictures and I am done trying to be.  I am who I am and I am going to be the best mom to my kids in the way that I know how and the way God wants me to be; this is a huge responsibility but I trust God has a the ultimate hand in my life and the raising of my precious babies.

I may not be able to go out to dinner every night alone, go dancing at the drop of the hat or dress in the latest fashions but I would not change my peanut butter and jelly dinners, living room dance parties or kid stained clothes for anything.  I love them with my whole heart!

My picture today is of me, Alyvia and Anderson (this was the best of the many attempts!): my precious babies  that I love so much.

365 Challenge Day 2

Lately I have been thinking about just how short life really is and what a short time I have with my kids while they are little.  I do not want to look back and regret not spending enough time with them and I do not want them to grow up wishing they had a mother that was more involved in their life.

One way the older kids and I spend time together is through craft time; they love to paint, glue, cut and color!  I am learning to not let the mess bother me and let go of my perfectionist tendencies and just appreciate the moment and the fun and creativeness going on.

Today's picture is of Anderson and Alyvia painting frog wind chimes.

365 Challenge: Day 1

Moving

The next two weeks we are going to be living amongst a bit of chaos, as we start packing boxes and gearing up for our big move.  It is not actually that big, as we are only moving three miles from where we are currently living but it is a move nonetheless!

So for my first picture for the 365 challenge I bring you my progress.  This is quite a great accomplishment for me, as we usually wait till the last minute and have zero boxes packed three days before the move.  This time I am going to be more organized and make sure everything is packed and labeled.  As you can see from the photo, I am off to a great start!
